This is a series of sketches about the many people who volunteer with the Warren County Historical Society. Their stories are most interesting. Their service is invaluable. In 2009, volunteers gave 3,282 hours of service to the Society.)
|TOM JOHANSEN of Brant Lake serves as the Collections Manager for the Society. Tom joined the Board in 2000 serving six terms. He returned again in 2008 to serve a one year term. Tom works to access all materials and archives donated to the society and to see to their proper storage. Since 1997 the society has acquired a variety of historical papers, documents, photos and postcards as well as historical objects numbering more than 10,000 items. Tom is a retired Lockheed Martin employee with 15 years in management. He also is the President of the Horicon Historical Society.
AURELIE MASSIMINE of Warrensburg has been a volunteer with Warren County Historical Society since 2005. She serves as the Archivist for the Society keeping the annual scrapbook which contains the history of the organization . She also helps clip newspaper articles to be filed by towns by year to help document the county’s history. In addition, Aurelie has contributed several articles to the Rewind column for the Post Star. Aurelie is a retired teacher having worked in the New York City School System for 32 years. She is an avid traveler and has toured the U.S., Europe and Asia. Her most recent trip was to India where she enjoyed the native culture.
